A large, tranquil yet very assertive image.

Two planes come into contact:

a soft vulnerable surface of light paper and an underlying gestural layer in acrylics & chalk and oil pastels, seeking to assert itself.

An attempt at imposition.

It's about boundaries, resistance and what remains visible despite it all.

The traces of overpainting become part of the artwork.

With its dimensions of 150 cm x 200 cm, the work makes a strong impact in the space without being loud.

It holds a space, gives it depth.

Sometimes something contradictory overlays the other, yet still seeks to come together.

In this picture, I let that happen. The delicate over the assertive.

Ein grosses ruhiges und gleichzeitig sehr bestimmtes Bild.

Zwei Ebenen treffen aufeinander: eine weiche, bewegliche und zarte aus Papier und eine darunter liegende gestische Setzung in Acryl, Öl Pastel, die durchscheint.

Mit einem Format von 150 cm x 200 cm wirkt das Bild stark im Raum, ohne laut zu sein. Ein grosses präsentes Format, das Ruhe und Kraft in einen Raum bringt.

Es hält einen Raum und verleiht Tiefe.

Gegensätzliches überlagert sich und bildet doch eine Einheit. Das lasse ich in dieser Arbeit passieren. Zartes trifft auf Bestimmendes.
